There was a time when AC Milan used to be one of the best clubs, but now with the period, the club has lost its reputation of being on the top. In fact, it is considered to be a mediocre club these days.

The Champions League final in 2005 is perhaps one of the greatest games ever played. After having trailed 3-0 till the half time, Liverpool went on to win the game over AC Milan by 3-2 in the penalty shootout.

After two years, both the teams faced each other and Milan won that game and their last European title. If we exclude the years before this Champions League format, AC Milan was the most successful team with a total of three victories and a total of six final appearances.

Currently, Milan is at the sixth spot in Serie A and a total of 14 points behind the top three. The sad part is that 2016/17 season is Milan’s third back to back a year without Champions League soccer.

It’s a natural thing that when one club rises, the other one falls. The collapse of Rossoneri was directly linked with the ascension of Paris St. Germain. As money comes into the Persian club, the club gets in charge.

Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimović acquisition were one of the main reasons for the decline of the Italian club. With that, Milan has struggled to get the players which they needed.

Not only this, but an exodus of the club’s Italian stalwarts is also inevitable with Alessandro Nesta, Inzaghi, Gianluca Zambrotta, Massimo Oddo, and Gennaro Gattuso departed the San Siro in the picture.

The legend Clarence Seedorf also left with Dutchman, Mark van Bommel. Large blame must be put on the owners of the club.

The club was having its fifth manager in the past two years. After Massimiliano Allegri left AC Milan, both Clarence Seedorf and Filippo Inzaghi have tried to help but were not able to restore the legacy of the club.
